The world-renowned timepiece maker Omega has recently introduced its enthralling Ladymatic collection. Held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Beijing, the presentation ceremony saw the attendance of international media and the Oscar-winning actress, Nicole Kidman.
Created with a sophisticated lady in mind, each timekeeper is proposed with a 34 mm case. It is sculptured in 18kt red gold, yellow gold or stainless steel. The distinctive flair of the model is a special ceramic ring, positioned between the outer decorative wave and the inner case body.
The new Omega watches sport either a polished or a snow-set diamond-studded bezel. Each item is equipped with a polished screw-in crown, which is encrusted with an Omega Cut diamond. Alternatively, it can bear a polished Omega logo. Also polished, the case-back of every timepiece is fitted with a sapphire crystal, which shows off the intricate workings of the movement.
Beating at the heart of this horological novelty is a calibre 8520/8521 movement, executed entirely in the company’s ateliers. It incorporates a Co-Axial escapement - a unique element, which in 1999 became a genuine breakthrough in the field of mechanical wristwatches.
Moreover, the caliber is endowed with the company’s exclusive Si 14 silicon balance spring. This innovation increases the level of its resistance to external shocks and environmental disturbances.
The functions, animated by the movement in question, are featured on an appealing dial. Dressed in extra-white mother-of-pearl or lacquered black, it perfectly coordinates with the color of the stunning ceramic ring. The dial is artfully embellished with a Supernova pattern, which is born in the very center.
The display of the new Ladymatic watch is completed with 11 diamond indexes, presented in facetted 18kt gold mounts. Omega has also released a version with a dial, which features no hour-markers and boggles the public imagination with its understated charm.
The progression of hours, minutes and seconds is marked by polished alpha-shaped hands, manufactured from 18kt gold. They are highlighted with Super-LumiNova, which makes the dial highly legible even in the worst lighting conditions. The display also offers a date indication, which appears in a diamond-polished exhibition window at 3 o’clock.
Every timekeeping companion from the collection presented is mounted either on a metal bracelet or on an alligator leather strap, done in mother-of-pearl white or brilliant black. Closed with a butterfly clasp, the metal bracelet boasts the Omega’s patented 3-row screw-and-pin design. The alligator strap, meanwhile, demonstrates a polished link in metal, which cohabits harmoniously with the case and a fold-over clasp in 18kt gold.
Officially certified as a chronometer, each Ladymatic timepiece is covered by a four-year warranty.
